MAIPO, CASABLANCA & COLCHAGUA

The Soul of Chilean Patagonia

Just beyond Santiago, Chile’s Central Wine Valleys unfold between the Andes and the Pacific, offering an extraordinary diversity of terroirs, grape varieties and winemaking traditions within relatively short distances.
Maipo Valley, at the foothills of the Andes, is one of the historic hearts of Chilean wine. Known especially for its elegant Cabernet Sauvignon and prestigious red blends, it combines iconic estates, historic cellars and contemporary wineries, many easily accessible from Santiago.

Heading west toward the Pacific, Casablanca Valley introduces a completely different expression. Its cooler coastal climate favors fresh Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and sparkling wines, while rolling vineyards, contemporary architecture and relaxed countryside settings make it a natural complement to a visit to Valparaíso and the coast.

Further south, Colchagua Valley offers a deeper immersion into Chilean wine country. Warm days, varied soils and a long viticultural tradition have made it particularly renowned for Cabernet Sauvignon, Carménère and expressive red blends. Here, vineyard stays, private tastings, horseback riding, cycling and long lunches among the vines invite travelers to experience wine at a slower rhythm.

From historic estates and celebrated labels to boutique producers and intimate cellar experiences, these valleys reveal the remarkable diversity of Chilean wine, combining gastronomy, landscape and local traditions in a journey that extends naturally from Santiago.
